I don’t think I’ve ever been able to enjoy this time of year, and won’t until I finish being a student. Thankfully, today is actually my last course (hopefully ever) that I’ll be sitting in as a student! Which means that after today, I’ll be able to rush my Christmas shopping and holiday prep.
I know I’m not the only one who is going through this, so let me give you a friendly tip. Make your way down to Tommy Café ASAP. You’re guaranteed to have an amazing cup of coffee, a delicious brunch/snack/lunch, and some pretty Instagram worthy pictures.
Tommy is located in the heart of Old Port, on the corner of Notre-Dame, right next to the Basilica. From the get-go, you’ll be charmed by the old architechture and the vintage feel of the neighborhood. Once you step inside, you’re immediatly transported to your favourite Insta-celebrity feed. It’s a perfect balance of vintage (with beautiful details in the ceiling and window frames) and Third Wave feel of white with a pop of colour and wood. My favourite? The marble surfboard with neon coral fin hanging up on the wall in the upstairs mezzannine.
The staff are friendly and can whip you up a pretty decent latte, and their menu is on point. Marie and I went there a few weekends ago before the end of session storm hit for a last date morning before the holidays. She tested the grilled peach and ricotta toast… WOOOOOOOOOW.
It’s a cozy spot, so if you’re heading over for brunch on the weekend, you might want to get there early!
Oh and it’s Sophie Turner aka Sansa Stark’s go-to when in Montreal, so you GOT fans, you might want to hang out there more often!
