Not too sure what to do this weekend in Montreal? Hop on the green line and get off at the Église metro station and walk down to 4835 Wellington to shop for a mix of vintage and handmade clothing and accessories!
Boutique Brock-Art is one of Verdun’s vintage meets new and/or refurbished clothing, accessories, furniture stores, located in the heart of Verdun. Once you’ve enjoyed some coffee and snacks either at Café de la Troisième or Le Baobab, cross the street and enter this magical store. It is full of vintage finds, and they also carry local artisan creations.
his weekend (May 13th-14th), Brock-Art is collaborating with GunStreet Vintage and Lace Forest Vintage to bring you the best of the best of vintage clothing. From dresses, to tops, rompers and jumpsuits, to men’s blazers and leather jackets, you’re sure to find a one of a kind item for your wardrobe.
Julie, from GunStreet Vintage, has been scouring flea markets and thrift stores for years, trying to find that one piece of vintage clothing that will make your jaw drop. Her favorite pieces that she has to offer this weekend are a stunning black velour jumpsuit with a plunging neckline and a golden crop top that would go perfectly with it. I left the store with one of her finds: a black shirt with embroidered roses on the front and back, which is apparently a hot trend this season (I’m trying real hard to be #fashionforward)!
Alongside GunStreet Vintage, you will find Josée, from Lace Forest Vintage, who also has her share of vintage finds; my favorite piece was a very funky windbreaker that reminded me of Richard Simmons’ aerobics videos (thankfully, there were no sequined short shorts to be seen).
If you’re looking for something to do with your mom tomorrow for Mother’s Day, head on down to Verdun for a stroll, and pop into the boutique; I guarantee you’ll find something for Mom, and yourself! Just try not to fight about who gets to wear it first!
